It is hard to believe that this is our final week of school! We had a successful year and the students are very excited to move up to the next level. They are also very eager to sing and graduate in front of all their friends and family on Monday. Girls should wear a summer dress and boys should wear nice pants and a dress shirt, please no jeans! We look forward to seeing you all. I hope everyone has a healthy and happy summer!!
We are preparing for our stepping up ceremony! Students are working hard on preparing their songs for their friends and family. We are reviewing sequence and rhyming words this week as well as doing some collage art work on our fish. We will be discussing Memorial Day and what it means. Just a reminder there is no school this Friday or the following Monday. As always any questions please don’t hesitate to ask! :)
This week we will be learning about plants and how they grow. We will also be focusing on the letter “N”. We received our caterpillar friends and all the children are so exciting to be watching them grow and get bigger these past few days. They are all patiently awaiting them to make their cocoons and then finally form into butterflies! We can’t wait to release them once they have completed their full life cycle!
This week we will be talking all about Easter and how we can be nicer friends to one another just as Jesus has taught us. We will be learning some new words for our “Spring” themed word wall and creating a cotton ball lamb in religion. We will doing fun activities such as dying eggs and making Jello and we will be having a small Spring party on Wednesday afternoon. There is a half day on Thursday. I hope everyone enjoys their Easter break!
This week we have been discussing how spring is on it’s way! Our letter for the next two weeks will be “S”. The children enjoyed our St.Patricks Day party yesterday and loved our special green bagles. We will be talking about Easter which is approaching quicky and I will also be slowly starting to introduce songs in preparation for graduation.
We will be having our Valentine’s Day Party on Thursday February 12th in the afternoon. If your child would like to bring in a car or treat please make sure to include one for every child in the class to ensure no one gets left out. The children have been completing a lot of fun Valentine’s Day projects and are looking forward to celebrating the day!!
We are continuing letter “P” this week. We are also going to be doing some fun projects this week making winter hat collages and science experiments with mealting ice! Progress reports will also being going home, please don’t hestitate to contact me if you have any questions.
This week we will be discussing letter “P” and talk about Penguins. We will also be discussing Martin Luther King Day. There will be no show and tell this week. Also a reminder to hand back papers letting us know if your child will be joining us for the field trip to the science center in May. We have no school on MLK day which is Monday January 19th. The students have been practicing hard for the Christmas concert! Please make sure your children are dressed properly in their Christmas best. (Dresses for the girls and sweaters/dress shirts and pants for the boys) Please no jeans or sneakers! Please also remember to have your child wear a Santa hat. Students are to be in their classroom at 6:30 and the show will start in the church at 7:00pm sharp. Prek and K are the first to go on. Please wait until the show is completed to pick your child up from where they will be seated in Church.
Next Monday the children will be having a “Pajama Christmas Party”. Please have your child wear appropriate holiday pajamas that will keep them warm in school. We will be celebrating in the afternoon and watching the movie “Polar Express”! We have breakfast with Santa on Tuesday and there will be a 12:30 Dismissal.
