Lesson: The Crayon Box that Talked
Watch: The Crayon Box That Talked:
Make: Draw a picture that uses at least 6 colors. Can you color in a way to make sure all your colors look great together? What will you draw?
Here’s a follow up poem to read together:
Wouldn’t it be terrible? Wouldn’t it be sad?
If just one single color was the color that we had?
If everything was purple? Or red? Or blue? Or green?
If yellow, pink, or orange was all that could be seen?
Can you just imagine how dull world would be
If just one single color was all we got to see?

Start by drawing a small picture such as a building, a city, a tree, a carpet, an animal or even a simple shape like a heart. Use dots to fill in the drawing. No regular coloring!–challenge yourself to only use dots! If you have tempera paint and cotton swabs you can try that to create dots as well. |
