All artwork must have the student’s name and date on the back and set in a folder to be viewed and accounted for at a later date.

Kindergarten – 2nd grade
Lesson – Picture Book Art
Material – Crayons or colored pencils or markers and paper

K-2 – Students grab their favorite picture book and focus on its illustrations. The students can then draw their own illustration from the book on a blank piece of paper and with whatever utensils they have available.
Grades 3-5
Lesson– Still Life
Material – Pencil and paper

Students can arrange an assortment of 3 objects from around the house to make a still life. The key to a good still life is good lighting. The students should remember how to use their pencil as a measuring tool. They can use a blank paper with whatever utensils are available to the them.
Grades 6-8
Lesson: Landscape Drawing
Material – Pencil and paper
Watch for information and tips to draw a landscape drawing :
Students can make their way outside on a nice day to do a landscape drawing. This will be new to the students but they can take what they have learned from the still life exercise and use it. Students can start with a horizon line and then block off the areas they would like to draw. They will create the background, middle ground and foreground. Simple shapes are key.
